These strange clouds moved in slowly
So we embraced the rain
No real threat to our way of life
We’ll make the best again
But rain will just keep coming
Said keen tomorrow minds
Complacent was the huddled crowd
Don’t worry we’ll be fine
So water kept on rising
Until it filled the streets
And flooding forced us all to live
In digital retreats
Still water just kept rising
Above the panes of view
Until unearthly humming sounds
Became all that we knew
And now the rising waters
Force each atop their rock
To choose between the shrinking ground
And joining a new flock
